Royal Bouquet
Brides use their wedding bouquet to add personal touches to their wedding and Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, was no different. All eyes were on Meghan Markle past weekend as she got ready to walk down the aisle to marry her prince charming, Prince Harry. Everything about this wedding is what we strive for here at Pure, it was chic, elegant, unique, and modern.
Meghan’s bouquet was designed by Philippa Craddock and featured sweet pea forget-me-not, lily of the valley, astilbe, jasmine, astrantia and myrtle. Each of the flowers had a meaning and was handpicked by Meghan and Harry. Forget-me-nots were included as they were the late Princess Diana’s favorite flower. While carrying myrtle has become a long standing royal tradition since its inception by Queen Vitoria for her daughter Princess Victoria which represents love. Lily of the Valley means return to happiness and symbolizes chastity, purity, happiness, luck, and humility. The astilbe represents patience and dedication. The astrantia is a representation of strength, courage, and protection. The jasmine flower is associated with love and symbolizes beauty and sensuality.
It is thrilling to see such a young couple to go for such a simple yet sophisticated bouquet. We hope more of our brides, here at Pure, will take lead and incorporate these flowers in their wedding flowers and bouquets.
